What to expect

The Diploma in Business is equivalent to the first year of QUT’s Bachelor of Business. This pathway is an introduction to key disciplines and functions of business, and provides knowledge of current business environments in a global context. You will:

  • study first-year academic content
  • develop your academic language and literacy skills through literature reviews and presentations
  • study on campus with access to all services and facilities across the university
  • benefit from an interactive learning environment, with small classes and more contact hours.

Details and units

Diploma in Business  

You must complete 96 credit points to meet the course requirements. Once you have successfully completed the diploma, you will be automatically offered a place in the Bachelor of Business. Your diploma units will be credited into your degree.

Bachelor of Business

The Bachelor of Business structure consists of 288 credit points with:

  • business core units  (96 credit points)
  • a primary major (96 credit points)
  • complementary studies (96 credit points).

Upon completion of the Diploma in Business, you will complete the remaining 192 credit points of the Bachelor of Business. As part of this course, you must choose a major.
