Real graduate
‘As publicity manager at Queensland Performing Arts Centre, I work on a variety of shows from dance and theatre, to orchestral and festivals. At QUT, I really enjoyed working on real-world projects and relating what I had learned in the classroom to the real business world. I was also able to tailor my business degree, choosing elective units that helped to prepare me for my chosen career path.’
Engage with industry
The QUT Business School’s student team won the $10 000 major prize in the 2014 Australasian Association of Convenience Stores/Coca-Cola Amatil Innovation Challenge. The challenge provides students with the opportunity to directly engage with those at the forefront of the industry, potentially seeing their innovative ideas put into practice.
Business advantage
‘In my first year, I participated in the Business Advantage Program which was hosted by industry leaders who taught us the tips and tricks of public speaking and how to come up with the big idea. I used the creative thinking skills from the program in a number of subjects for the rest of my studies.’
