QUT diplomas through QUT College provide a pathway for students – giving them the skills and confidence needed to pursue their chosen degree at QUT. We’ve answered some frequently asked questions about our higher education diplomas.
What are the entry requirements for a QUT diploma?
Entry is based on ATAR/selection rank. The guide to entry threshold for each diploma can be viewed on the relevant course page. Applications are made via QTAC.
How much credit does a QUT diploma provide?
QUT diplomas are made up of 8 units, equalling 96 credit points. These units are credited towards a related bachelor degree at QUT.
Which units do students in diploma programs study?
QUT diplomas are generally made up of the core foundational units of a related bachelor degree, or may be a combination of core units and electives, depending on the diploma.
You can explore the units involved in each diploma on the relevant course page.
Does studying a diploma extend a student's time at university?
If a student goes on to study a related bachelor degree, completing a QUT diploma will not add to their time at university. A QUT diploma will give a student the equivalent of a full-time year of credit and therefore, in most cases, will not extend the duration of their degree.
