What to expect

Bachelor of Data Science

Across the world, we are collecting unprecedented amounts of data. We need skilled data scientists to understand and interpret the data, and communicate meaningful insights to inform business-critical decisions.

Throughout the degree, you will combine mathematics, statistics, and computer science to analyse and extract knowledge from large amounts of data. The course covers the theory and the practical tools for data acquisition, storage, management, processing, analysis and visualisation.

This data science degree is one-of-a-kind in Queensland and as a graduate, you will have the skills required to effectively communicate your data-driven insights to broader audiences, expert and non-expert alike. You will be experienced at interacting effectively within and across teams, working independently, and appraising your own continuing professional development.

Bachelor of Communication (Community and Public Relations)

Social media provides individuals and organisations with a powerful voice to share their opinions, build brands, and tell impactful stories. Information also circulates much more rapidly in the digital era. The need to build and enhance relationships between organisations, individuals, and stakeholders – and mitigate potential crises – has never been more critical.

This major prepares you to deliver reputational outcomes for clients. You will learn how to maintain effective relationships, build reputations, influence opinions, and manage crises. There is a particular emphasis through the School of Communication on fundamental communication skills, social media management, and digital analytics.
