What you'll receive
You'll receive:
- a scholarship to cover 20% of your tuition fees for your first two semesters (one year) of degree (or higher) study at QUT, provided you meet the minimum academic standards
- other benefits including a scholarship award ceremony.
The QUT Real World International Scholarship is available from the following faculties:
- Faculty of Business and Law
- Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice
- Faculty of Engineering
- Faculty of Science.
Eligibility
You must:
- meet the academic entry requirements
- have an eligible nationality
- meet minimum English language entry requirements for the course
- be commencing the course for the first time
- receive an admission offer letter into one of the eligible courses offered by the participating faculties.
Other factors (e.g. educational disruption, medical circumstances, financial needs) will not be taken into consideration for this scholarship - eligibility is solely determined on your academic record.

How to apply
You do not need to apply for this scholarship.
If you are new to QUT we will assess your qualifications provided in your application when you apply to study at QUT for an eligible course, and we will let you know if you meet the criteria. If you are interested in this scholarship, ensure you include your official overall grade point average and grading scale information as issued by the awarding institution(s) for all of your studies is uploaded with your application.
This scholarship is not available to current QUT students unless you have already been awarded the scholarship as part of a package offer that you are currently enrolled in at QUT.
What happens next?
If you are eligible, you will receive a scholarship offer along with your admissions offer letter.
If you do not receive a scholarship and you have not commenced your studies as per your offer letter, ask your agent to request a review of your application. If you have applied without an agent, reply to your offer email requesting a scholarships review. All review requests must include a statement on why you believe you have qualified for the scholarship and supporting documentation, including overall grade point average and grading scale information as issued by the awarding institution. The review will only be considered on the basis of the information you provide in your request.
Conditions
To keep your scholarship, you must maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout your course.
You can:
- take QUT-approved leave of absence but only after you have completed one semester of study. You won't receive scholarship payments during this time. You may continue to receive the scholarship upon return to your studies if all other terms and conditions are met and you return by the approved leave end date.
You are unable to:
- hold a sponsorship, scholarship etc from another organisation, government etc
- hold any other scholarship, except an Equity Scholarship. If you have any questions about holding other scholarships, contact us at scholarships@qut.edu.au
- hold this scholarship if you obtain Australian permanent resident status or become an Australian and/or New Zealand citizen.

The QUT Real World International Scholarship is available from the following faculties:

The scholarship is for students who:
- have demonstrated academic achievement in their past studies
- continue to achieve high standards for the duration of their studies.
In addition to financial support, you are encouraged to make the most of your QUT experience through extra development opportunities, which build your leadership skills and professional networks.
