About us
QUT’s STEM High School Engagement has been running since 2013 and is committed to inspiring the next generation of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) leaders. We provide meaningful STEM experiences for Year 7 to 12 students regardless of background, gender, academic level or location.
The future of employment is changing rapidly, with predictions that 75% of the fastest-growing occupations will require STEM-based technological skills. Our program creates opportunities for high school students to build enthusiasm for these STEM skills while drawing from the concepts of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
We deliver fully funded on-campus workshops, events and professional learning across STEM disciplines to help schools understand the importance of STEM skills and the broad range of future study and career opportunities STEM offers.
Our talented STEM Student Ambassadors inspire, lead and connect with program participants bringing diversity and real-world inspiration into all our activities.

Girl power!
Are you a girl interested in STEM and feel like you are the only one? You aren't! Yes women are under-represented in STEM fields but at QUT we're committed to bridging the gender gap. We want to showcase the wonderful women working and studying at QUT who are breaking down the barriers for women and girls!
Widening participation
QUT works with under-represented school groups to build aspiration for university study, particularly in the STEM fields.
Our Widening Participation Program aims to break down the barriers to entry to university, and make studying and applying accessible to students from all backgrounds. In particular providing support for low income, rural and Indigenous students from eligible schools.
