This unit focuses predominantly on those substances that are commonly associated with addiction, including substances used in the treatment of addictive behaviours and mental illness. The context for learning about specific substances is built on an understanding of the principles of behavioural pharmacology (including a review of neurobiology and the pharmacokinetic effects of common substances) and related research methods. While this is a stand-alone unit, it will complement the material covered in other units on addiction (e.g. PYB159, PYB360) and could be combined with other units to constitute a minor sequence.","title-full":"PYB260 Psychopharmacology of Addictive Behaviour","title-short":"Psychopharmacology of Addictive Behaviour","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=PYB260&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=PYB260","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=PYB260"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
