Aquatic programs

Swim safety

Swim safety is a program for QUT international students that equips them with the skills to swim safely in all aquatic environments.

The program operates all year round using the YMCA Kelvin Grove pool facilities on campus. At the end of academic semesters, students have the opportunity to attend a day trip to Stradbroke Island where they put their skills into practice.

Swimming training

From socially-based recreational swimmers to high-performance athletes, our campus pools are available for all.

QUT's pools are heated to 28 degrees celcius all year round to ensure all users can swim comfortably. The pools are both indoors which ensure our students and the wider community avoid the harsh rays of the sun.

QUT Sport operate staff and student swim training sessions which are aimed at improving technique and skills across all swim strokes.

QUT's own semi-professional esports team - the QUT Tigers - contest a range of esports events, including the League of Legends Oceanic Challenger Series (OCS).
