What you'll receive
QUT's Faculty of Business and Law has HDR scholarships available for domestic and international students commencing no later than 1 November 2024.
Successful applications will receive:
- an annual stipend paid fortnightly and indexed annually to support living costs. The annual stipend rate in 2024 is $33,637 (AUD) full-time for scholarships centrally funded by QUT. The scholarship is tax exempt for full-time students
- a tuition fee sponsorship for a maximum of 4 years dependent on satisfactory progress during your candidature
- international students will also receive Single Overseas Student Health Cover if eligible.
As the scholarship recipient, you'll have the opportunity to work with a team of leading researchers to undertake your own innovative research in a QUT - Doctor of Philosophy.
Eligibility
You must:
- meet QUT’s academic and English language entry requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy (IF49)
- hold a Bachelor degree with Honours (H2A minimum) or a Masters degree (with a research component and appropriate GPA) in a discipline of relevance to the research topic
- be applying to study full-time and at a QUT campus (internal study mode)
- start your research degree no later than 1 November 2024
- not have secured an external sponsorship (e.g. from government, other funding body or current employer)
- not have secured an internally funded scholarship (e.g. scholarship from supervisor, school or faculty) unless it has been explicitly identified as a bridging scholarship
- have already made contact with a proposed supervisor.
How to apply
To be considered for this scholarship, you'll need to apply for and be accepted into a PhD at QUT.
How to apply for a research degree
Submit your expression of interest, which must include a draft research proposal, by 11.59pm AEST on Tuesday, 30 April 2024.
To indicate your interest in this scholarship, you must include the name of this scholarship in the financial details section of the application (Question 2).
What happens next?
Applicants invited to submit Part 2 of the application process will be contacted directly to create an updated research proposal and submit this within the timeframe specified in the email. Failure to do so could deem you ineligible for a scholarship.
Conditions
The conditions for retaining the scholarship are set out in the rules of the QUT - Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship.
If a student receives a conditional offer (e.g. conditional on completion of a masters or honours degree), conditions must be met by 31 July 2024.
