What you'll receive
You'll receive an annual stipend paid fortnightly, indexed annually to assist with your general living costs. In 2024, the annual stipend rate is $33,637 (AUD) at the full-time rate for up to 21 months.
Domestic students will receive an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Fees Offset.
International students will receive a Tuition Fee Sponsorship.
As the scholarship recipient, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of leading researchers, to undertake your own innovative research in and across this important field of research.
Eligibility
Applicants will need to:
- meet QUT’s admission criteria for our Master of Philosophy degree, which includes meeting QUT’s English language requirements at the time of application
- commit to full-time, internal study.

About the scholarship
This MPhil Project will develop customised organic transistors for detection of unwanted metabolites produced by wine grapes to enable development of miniaturized and portable Point-of-Need analytical and diagnostic solutions for the wine industry.
The candidate will be supervised by A/Prof Soniya Yambem and have the opportunity to engage in a dynamic environment with members of the Bioelectronics & Biosensors Group, researchers from the Centre for Materials Science and all academics at the School of Physics and Chemistry, Faculty of Science.
