Close to 25 per cent of all QTAC applicants in 2018 are for QUT and this has seen the university make around 12,900 QTAC offers for places at its Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses.

QUT Registrar Ms Shard Lorenzo said QUT would make more offers prior to O Week which commences Monday, 12 February.

QUT will welcome more than 10,000 new students in 2018.

“So far, 10,082 students have accepted their offer to study. QUT has experienced an increase in applications by as much as 10 per cent for a number of courses and many of these are double degrees,” Ms Lorenzo said.

“The STEM disciplines stand out particularly in relation to engineering, information technology and the natural and physical sciences.

“QUT’s Bachelor of Business continues to be a another very popular choice at the Gardens Point campus while at our Kelvin Grove campus, the health sciences are in high demand. Nursing always attracts strong numbers but this year we have also seen increases in the number of students commencing biomedical science, paramedic science and pharmacy.”

Fine arts is another area with increased interest.

Ms Lorenzo urged prospective students who have received an offer for a place at QUT to accept as soon as possible through QTAC.
