Explore this course
Paramedics provide rapid, emergency medical response and specialised transportation to the community. Each day a paramedic may respond to a number of call outs - not all of which will be emergencies. A paramedic’s work also consists of non-life threatening cases, transporting elderly patients and patients who have scheduled hospital treatments.

Entry requirements
This program is only available for applicants from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), Canada who have:
- Completed the Emergency Medical Responder Certificate; and
- Completed the Primary Care Paramedic Certificate; and
- Completed the Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma with an overall grade average of 2 or higher (on a 4 point scale); and
- Passed all required units as per the advanced standing agreement
Minimum English language requirements
Completion of the Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma with an overall grade average of 2 or higher (on a 4 point scale) plus all prior schooling/studies in an approved English speaking country (Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland, United States of America, and Wales).
