If you want to become a teacher and already have an undergraduate degree, you may be able to study the Master of Teaching (Secondary).
If you're already a registered teacher and you want to specialise in a particular field of education, you may be interested in studying an education specialisation.
In our Master of Teaching (Secondary), you can get a teaching qualification if you have a degree in a field other than education. You'll learn to teach Year 7 to 12 in secondary school, and become a qualified specialist in your two chosen teaching areas.
This course includes educational and curriculum studies to complement content knowledge obtained from your previous qualification.
You'll be taught by leading academics, be given quality support and work with cutting-edge resources. We also offer a range of support services, mentor programs and scholarships to help you make the most of your university experience.
You'll get professional experience in school settings, which will give you the confidence and expertise to teach. You'll work in real classrooms, supervised by practising educators, to practice and apply your learning.
If you've already completed a degree in a field other than education, you might be able to become a teacher in two years. Our course will let you study educational and curriculum content to complement the knowledge from your previous qualification.
You can choose to study externally or on campus, either part time or full time. You'll be notified of your professional experience placements in advance so you can plan ahead.
Our course will give you the skills and qualification to teach Year 7 to 12 in secondary school. Your qualification also allows you to work in other locations in Australia and overseas.
