Inclusive education

Our courses keep the principles of inclusive education at the forefront. Our experts will help you ensure your teaching practice is equitable, participatory, and accessible for all students.

Real case studies will help you design lessons and understand how to support students who are at risk of not being fully included in education.

Health and physical education classes

Secondary students in the health and physical education teaching area can gain extra practical teaching experiences in an authentic real-world environment.

In on-campus curriculum units, students can explore different teaching approaches over a series of physical education lessons with small school groups from Kelvin Grove State College. You’ll be supported and guided by an experienced university mentor.

Be ready for placement

These are just some of the inclusions in QUT courses to prepare you for placements.

Observations

Before you go on your first prac you’ll have the opportunity to understand what it’s really like so you are prepared. Video observations of real school classrooms and early childhood learning environments provide scenarios and the opportunity to learn and discuss how to respond as a student teacher on prac.

Microteaching

Throughout your course you’ll get to practise planning and teaching lessons on campus before you need to step into a real lesson. Feedback from QUT experts helps you experiment and refine your skills.

Curriculum and assessment

Be up to date with the Australian Curriculum and develop strategies to engage learners and conduct assessments. You’ll be equipped to evaluate and interpret assessment data to continuously improve learner outcomes.
