What you'll receive

You'll receive:

  • a seven week work integrated learning clinical placement at one of the selected I-MED Radiology Network regional placement sites
  • a bursary valued at $5,000, paid in full upon commencement of your placement, to assist with the out-of-pocket expenses associated with undertaking a regional placement.

As part of the bursary, you will also receive admission to an annual I-MED Radiology Network Conference.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this bursary, you must:

  • be enrolled in Year 2 of the CS48 Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) at the time of application in Semester 2, 2025, and enrolled or set to enrol in Year 3 in Semester 1, 2026
  • have a minimum course GPA of 5.0 at the time of application and maintain it until the time of your placement
  • be willing to undertake a clinical placement at any I-MED Radiology Network regional placement site, offered in either of the seven week clinical placement blocks during Year 3 (May and July).

I-MED Radiology sites eligible for this placement are:

  • Bundaberg
  • Buderim
  • Gladstone
  • Hervey Bay (St Stephens Hospital)
  • Maryborough
  • Mount Isa (Mount Isa Base Hospital)
  • Rockhampton (Rockhampton Mater Hospital)
  • Townsville (Thuringowa Central).

How to apply

You need to complete and submit the online application form by 11.59pm on the closing date, 11 January 2026.

Your application should include the following attachments:

  • a copy of your resume / curriculum vitae (CV)
  • a written response (maximum of 1,000 words) addressing the following criteria:
    • discuss the value of patient care within the scope of medical imaging practice (25% weighting)
    • provide an example from recent practical experience where your actions affected patient care and outcome (25% weighting)
    • describe an occasion where you were part of/observed collaborative teamwork during your most recent practical and discuss its effects on the patient outcome in this situation (25% weighting)
    • expand on your experiences regarding innovation in medical imaging and explain how it affects patient outcomes (25% weighting).

What happens next?

Once the selection process is complete, you will be notified in writing of the outcome of your application.

The successful applicant may be notified of the outcome of their application by telephone or email prior to receiving the formal written notification.

Conditions

To retain your I-MED Radiology Network Medical Imaging Bursary and receive the payment, you must:

  • maintain a minimum course GPA of 5.0
  • remain enrolled (full time or part time) in Semester 1 and 2, 2026.
