What you'll receive
A 7-week work integrated learning clinical placement at one of the selected I-MED regional placement sites.
Supported by $5,000 of funding as a cash payment to assist with the out-of-pocket expenses associated with undertaking a regional placement.
Eligibility
You must:
- be enrolled in the Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) (CS48) year 2, Semester 2 at the time of application and enrolled, or set to enrol for year 3 in Semester 1, 2025
- at the time of application have a minimum GPA 5.0 and maintain it until the time of your placement
- be willing to undertake a clinical placement at any I-MED Radiology Network regional placement site offered in either of the 7-week clinical placement blocks during Year 3 (May and July).
I-MED Radiology sites eligible for this placement are:
- Bundaberg
- Buderim
- Gladstone
- Hervey Bay - St Stephens Hospital
- Maryborough
- Mount Isa Base Hospital
- Rockhampton Mater Hospital
- Thuringowa Central, Townsville
How to apply
Applications for the 2024 I-MED Radiology Network Medical Imaging Bursary have now closed.
To apply, complete the application form, including a written statement (maximum 1,000 words total) answering these four questions:
- discuss the value of patient care within the scope of medical imaging practice (25%)
- provide an example (from recent practical experience) where your actions affected patient care and outcome (25%)
- think of an occasion where you were part of/observed collaborative team work on your most recent practical and discuss its effects on the patient outcome in this situation (25%)
- expand on your experiences regarding innovation in medical imaging. How does this affect patient outcomes? (25%)

What happens next?
Once the selection process is complete, you will be notified in writing of the outcome of your application. The successful applicant may be notified of the outcome of their application by telephone or email prior to receiving the formal written notification.
Conditions
You will need to:
- maintain a grade point average of at least 5.0
- maintain an enrolment (full time or part time) in Semester 1 and 2, 2025.

Withdrawal and termination of scholarship
Withdrawal by recipient: Scholarship recipients who withdraw from their study program after receiving payment of scholarship benefits may be required to repay some or all of the scholarship funds received.
Termination of scholarship by QUT: QUT may terminate a scholarship if a recipient does not satisfactorily meet the scholarship terms and conditions.
