Changes for 2024

The entry process for performance and creative industries courses at QUT has changed for 2024.

The only course with an additional entry requirement (audition) is the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting).

Entry for all other performance and creative industries courses is based on ATAR or selection rank. If you have performance qualifications you may be able to use your selection rank for this qualification to gain entry to QUT.

Entry requirements for acting

For the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Acting) course you are required to complete an audition process comprising of a pre-recorded self test audition.

More detail on the process including the audition pieces are listed on the acting course page under the requirements tab.

Entry with performance qualifications

If you have performance qualifications such as AMEB or equivalent, the skills and experience you’ve gained can give you a selection rank for entry to QUT courses, including performance and creative industries courses (other than Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting)).

Your performing arts qualification can be translated into a selection rank (from 84.00-87.00, depending on your qualification).

Selection ranks for completed AMEB and equivalent study

There are also other pathways to study at QUT including secondary education, vocational education and training (VET) or TAFE study, higher education study and work experience.
