What is the purpose of this research?

The purpose of this project is to determine how the behaviours of overtaking, overloading and uneven loading are viewed by RV drivers. The results of this study will help to inform of the effectiveness of three educational messages intended to help improve RV safety outcomes.

Are you looking for people like me?

To participate in this study you must:

  • drive an RV
  • be at least 18 years old
  • possess a valid driver's licence
  • currently reside in Australia.

What will you ask me to do?

You will be asked to complete an anonymous survey that features between 34 and 39 questions (depending on the group you're assigned to) and will take about 15 minutes of your time.

Are there any risks for me in taking part?

Some people may feel discomfort when responding to the questions about the target behaviours since these behaviours have been associated with RV crashes and near-misses. If you feel that you may experience discomfort, you may wish to reconsider participating in this study.

Are there any benefits for me in taking part?

This research project is not expected to directly benefit you. However, the outcomes of the research may help to inform RV public education strategies to improve RV safety outcomes in the future.

Will I be compensated for my time?

To recognize your contribution, should you choose to participate, the research team is offering you the chance to win 1 of 5 $100 e-GiftPay gift cards.

I am interested - what should I do next?
