Crime Club - QUT students solve a 'murder' with real-life police: The police detectives, prosecutor, judge and $1000 prize money are real, but the suspicious death of a university professor that 60 QUT law and justice students are investigating is (thankfully) fake.

Ebola outbreak highlights need for IP-free essential medicines: international conference: New life-saving medicines developed for lethal disease such as ebola should be 'a gift to the world' rather than held up by squabbles over intellectual property while victims of the disease are dying, says QUT Professor of IP & Innovation Law Matthew Rimmer.

GST-free holiday on online buys to go as falling dollar hits sales: People who buy items under $1000 online from overseas could soon pay GST on them, but while some retailers and lobby groups may rejoice, QUT retail expert Dr Gary Mortimer said collection could cost up to $2 billion a year.

Do phone apps and UV-detecting devices help prevent skin cancer? Join a study to help find out: Young smartphone-using adults in Brisbane are wanted to join a new QUT research project designed to discover whether or not devices to detect ultraviolet radiation (UVR) and mobile phone apps promoting sun smart behaviour are effective.

QUT welcomes bumper crop of future public sector leaders: QUT is helping to develop the public sector leaders of the future with 650 public servants from across Australia enrolled this year in its tailored graduate program.
