The Sunshine State's small business landscape will be under the microscope during Queensland Small Business Week, with several events hosted by QUT.
The week, from September 1 - 6, aims to celebrate and inspire Queensland's 400,000 small businesses through a series of events for both established and emerging enterprises.
Kicking off on Monday, September 1, QUT will host a panel of experts, including Australian Centre for Entrepreneurship Research (ACE) Director Professor Per Davidsson, on the subject, Are you a small business tiger? How do you become one?
On Wednesday, September 3, ACE will host Small Firm Growth - Lessons from systematic research, looking at the challenges associated with firms growing larger, at QUT's Gardens Point Campus.
The following day the campus will host The business creation process: What works and doesn't work for Australian start-ups? and on September 5 the nation's start-up activity will be the focus in Entrepreneurship in Australia: How does our start-up activity hold up against other countries?
The week will launch on September 2 with a lunch and panel discussion featuring national and local identities and international business expert Professor Josh Lerner from Harvard Business School and the World Economic Forum.
Hosted by the Queensland Government, the City Hall event, which QUT Business School is sponsoring, will examine how Queensland business is performing on the world stage.
