QUT awards Aileen Moreton-Robinson title of Distinguished Professor: QUT has conferred the title of Distinguished Professor on internationally acclaimed Indigenous researcher Aileen Moreton-Robinson.

Electric cars and home solar storage capacity increased with simple pre-treatment: The next-gen battery to enable electric cars to run longer and increase the storage capacity for solar energy is on its way thanks to QUT, CSIRO and RMIT researchers’ discovery of a simple salt-bath process for rechargeable lithium batteries.

QUT scientists serve Queensland a food bowl: Plant biotechnology holds the key to enabling Queensland to become a food bowl for India and Asia, with QUT's Professor Sagadevan Mundree saying new varieties of chickpea and mungbean currently in field trial were achieving a 20 per cent increase in harvest index despite minimal water.

New health law website vital for doctors, patients making end-of-life decisions: Doctors are trained to treat and cure. It’s the key reason why many say they have given futile treatment to dying patients, a QUT study of 96 Brisbane doctors who make end-of-life treatment decisions has found.

Biotech agreement opens way for new auto-immune disease therapies: A new personalised treatment for the debilitating arthritic condition ankylosing spondylitis and other auto-immune diseases will be developed through a research collaboration led by QUT’s Professor of Genomics, Matt Brown under an agreement between Janssen Biotech Inc., one of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, and QUT.

New website makes higher education more accessible for Indigenous communities: A QUT project funded by an Australian Government Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (HEPPP) grant will open up higher education opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and encourage them to share their stories.

Outstanding QUT students go further with Arrow Indigenous scholarships: Six outstanding QUT students have received 2016 Go Further Indigenous Tertiary Scholarships, sponsored by Arrow Energy, which are each worth up to $10,000 a year.

Justice student secures internship at the Australian Human Rights Commission: QUT School of Justice student Lauren Wilkins will gain an insight into some of the nation's biggest human rights issues after being selected for an internship at the Australian Human Rights Commission.
