Dr Cassandra Cross (pictured above) spoke to Radio National’s The World Today and ABC Radio Melbourne about the global ransomware outbreak. And she explained to Fairfax papers including the Brisbane Times why cyber fraud is under-reported.

Dr Ernest Foo told Brisbane Times and Fairfax papers nationally Queensland should prepare for  possible cyber attacks on its infrastructure. He also spoke to ABC Radio Brisbane about cyberwarfare.

Dr Omniya el-Baghdadi explained to The Guardian and Taipei Times why business may be slow to take up biophilic building designs that benefit them economically.

Dotemerates, Brazil Business Today, Malay Mail Online, CTV News, Hindustan Times, IBN Live,  iAfrica and Medical Xpress reported on Associate Professor Scott Read’s research into spending more time outdoors for the sake of our sight.

Professor Greg Kyle and Katherine Browne’s Conversation article arguing pharmacists shouldn’t sell remedies that lack evidence was republished by Daily Bulletin, Inside FMCG and Viw Magazine. The Australian Journal of Pharmacy reported on the article and Professor Kyle spoke with ABC Mid North Coast and Perth 6PR.

The Australian Financial Review published feature on QUT Chancellor Tim Fairfax and his philanthropic activities.

Dr Rebecca English shared her home schooling and unschooling expertise with SBS’s The Feed.

China’s News Dog rated QUT’s IT degree as one of the best in the world.

Interesting Engineering featured a story about Michael Milford building robots with rodent brains.

Campus Morning Mail reported on the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute winter school at QUT, and recruitment for QUT’s next Vice-Chancellor.  

4BC, 2SM, 2TM, 2GB and 3AW spoke to Professor Jonathan Roberts about how likely surgeons would be to accept robotic help.

The Borneo Post mentioned Dr Matthew Dunbabin and Dr Feras Dayoub’s COTSbot in a story about the threat of crown-of-thorns starfish.

2SER spoke with Distinguished Professor Peter Corke about farming robots. Robohub and Robot Enthusiast spoke to him about his MOOC, The Robot Academy.

Dr Linda Graham’s expert opinion on Pauline Hanson’s claims students with disabilities should be segregated were reported by Special World.

Architecture and Design featured QUT’s new HiQ LED wall.

Sunshine Coast suburban papers including Caboolture News promoted QUT Health Clinics free kids health check day at QUT’s Caboolture campus.

Professor Matthew Rimmer  spoke to Seriously Media about the history of copyright issues in journalism.

The Sunshine Coast Daily mentioned QUT and DeepBlue’s innovative contribution to the Queensland Music Festival.

eGlobal Travel Media mentioned the Creative Industries Faculties involvement in the Cairns Indigenous Art Festival.

Tom Magazine mentioned the Creative Industries Faculty’s support of a live reimagining of the Go Between’s  16 Lover Lanes album as part of the Queensland Music Festival.

Australian Ageing Agenda praised Dr Maria O’Reilly’s  Dementia Centre for Research Collaboration dementia-friendly guide to Brisbane Airport.

QUT research into testing regimes for cladding was mentioned in an Insurance News  story about the NSW Government cracking down on cladding in the wake of a tragic fire in the UK.

Dr Edwina Luck talked retail on ABC Brisbane’s Morning show.

Jennifer Firn spoke with the Southern Star about the need to promote native trees, flowers and grasses in our suburbs.

CARRS-Q’s Ian Faulks spoke to ABC Mid North Coast about seat belts on school buses.
