QUT can assist industry, health services and communities to conduct clinical trials and clinical research studies to bring improved patient care, and we welcome interest from potential sponsors and research collaborators.

What we offer

Expertise

Over the past eight years we have successfully conducted more than 30 clinical trials in cancer, palliative care, respiratory illnesses, migraine, and vision improvement, and have taken trials from the lab bench to the bedside.

Our world class researchers have experience in Phase I to IV clinical trials, are active in preventative and therapeutic health research, as well as biomedical engineering.

Our expertise in health economics, nursing, optometry, genomics, public health and social work is available to support clinical trials.

Services

QUT-managed clinical trials offer:

  • highly qualified and GCP-trained clinical research and trial management staff;
  • an established and efficient clinical trial governance structure, including HREC review and risk based monitoring, that ensures regulatory compliance and appropriate risk management;
  • compliance with international clinical trial standards and industry-standard operating procedures.

We provide quality participant care and uphold the highest ethical standards. We host or have access to extensive databases and tissue banks for use in clinical trials, and our facilities include specialist equipment and world class laboratories.

Facilities and partners

QUT hosts a number of exceptional research facilities, including several in joint partnership with Queensland Health.

These world-class facilities support a range of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials.  We also conduct clinical trials in collaboration with Australian private and public hospitals.
