Each year, Brisbane Festival handpicks a selection of independent productions to be showcased at the Festival’s Theatre Republic hub, held at QUT's Creative Industries Precinct at Kelvin Grove.
The beautifully designed festival site, with a touch of Utopia, offers a warm and welcoming world of performance, food stalls, bars, music and fun nestled amongst four venues.
While lounging under the stars you can enjoy a free nightly music program, explore beautiful curiosities, play arcade games and musical instruments, or just relax with a drink among our unique light installations – all while experiencing some of the outstanding shows that make up the 2017 Theatre Republic program.
This is the Republic’s biggest and most invigorating program yet: a stellar line-up of 14 on-the-edge productions drawing together artists from across Australia, Singapore and the UK and including world premiere productions from two of Brisbane’s most beloved performance companies.
