2023 Meanjin Oration: Noel Pearson

Delivered by the Carumba Institute, this year's Meanjin Oration featured prominent Indigenous leader Noel Pearson speaking about the Referendum on a First Nations Voice to Parliament.

Noel is an Aboriginal activist, lawyer and academic, and founded the Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership. He has been a driving force in the discourse on Indigenous rights in Australia for more than 30 years, and called the Voice debate the most important event in 250 years.

Following the oration, Noel Pearson will be interviewed by Dr Amy McQuire, a Darumbal and South Sea Islander journalist, writer and podcaster, and a post-doctoral fellow in the School of Communication at QUT.
