Over the Australian summer, up to 20 QUT students will gain valuable international experience by participating in two of MIT’s entrepreneurship programs. QUT students will take online workshops to learn alongside MIT students. This opportunity will enable QUT students to build international professional and social networks as well as their skills and knowledge.
Professor Rowena Barrett, Executive Director QUT Entrepreneurship say these MIT fuse and StartMIT programs are exciting opportunities that can help our students nurture, incubate and develop ideas for the real world. QUT Entrepreneurship’s unique relationship with the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship means QUT students can learn alongside MIT students bring new perspectives and insights to their venturing.
QUT students will be supported by QUT Entrepreneurship staff alongside the team at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.
QUT Entrepreneurship invites expressions of interest from any continuing QUT student (enrolled for 2021) to participate in one (1) of two (2) programs at MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology being delivered online from 5-21 January 2021.
QUT students who have a business idea and are ready to go or are simply curious about entrepreneurship may be selected to participate in MIT fuse and StartMIT. QUT has places for 3 teams looking to work, think, and talk like an entrepreneur in MIT Fuse. Up to 5 students can join StartMIT where their curiosity about entrepreneurship, particularly as it operates in the US will be satisfied. QUT’s collaboration with MIT opens these exclusive opportunities to students. Students who are thinking about how to solve problems or take advantage of opportunities, whether in a new venture or someone else’s, should apply.
The future of work is entrepreneurial. QUT students who attended MIT fuse and StartMIT in January 2020, like Vivi Tran (QUT Business/Law) (pictured) have gone on to accelerate their ventures, explore entrepreneurial endeavours and apply their entrepreneurial mindset to opportunities presented over the course of 2020. They continue to be supported by QUT Entrepreneurship and can often be found in the QUT foundry where mentoring is available to student founders and those interested in bringing ideas to life.
Applications for expressions of interest close on Friday, 4 December 2020.
