On Thursday 17 September, the CIQ convened a highly successful free professional development workshop for Chinese language teachers on the teaching and learning of Chinese under the new Queensland Certificate of Education.
The CIQ Team recently farewelled Li Ping, our visiting Chinese Teacher, after two years of amazing work. Li Ping joined the CIQ in August of 2018 and has been a valuable team member, bringing new skills such as Tai Chi Fan Dancing and Chinese Brush Painting as well as her strong Chinese language teaching.
A CIQ Team, led by Director Antoine Barnaart, recently presented the CIQ Student Incentive Awards at the Coomera Anglican College (CAC) Junior Secondary assembly.
CIQ made a visit to Sheldon College, the newest CIQ Network School, to present students with their CIQ Student Incentive Awards.
A CIQ team revisited remote Maryvale Primary School, a one teacher school near Warwick, to deliver a second workshop for the fourteen students. After the first visit in early 2020, CIQ made a commitment to support the school in three ways: workshop visits every 6 weeks, volunteer teachers providing fortnightly ZOOM tutorials from China, and facilitating the enrolment of four students in the Charters Towers Distance Education Chinese program.
CIQ Volunteer Chinese Teacher, Gao Shan, has been using her significant skills and experience, gained in both China and New Zealand, to provide essential tutoring for CIQ’s community short course programs.
