IFN691 Gamification and Persuasive Computing

The unit builds upon theories of human-computer interaction, game design and psychology in the development of technology designed to change attitudes and behaviours through persuasion and social influence. The unit focuses on gamification (i.e. the application of game elements and game design techniques to non-game problems) as a mechanism for addressing business and social challenges.

  • as part of a QUT course and are eligible for a Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
  • as a cross-institutional student who has a Commonwealth supported place at their home university.

For Australian citizens, permanent visa holders and permanent humanitarian visa holders, and New Zealand citizens, who study this unit:
  • as part of a QUT course and are not eligible for a Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
