The concepts of Earth Science are fundamental not only to the field of Geology, but also to environmental science, natural resource management, climate change, water security, civil and geotechnical engineering and society at large. This introduction to Earth Science, includes earth cycles and materials (minerals and rocks), geological history and physical geography and landforms. Additionally, the unit provides accessible examples of the use of scientific reasoning for understanding complex natural systems. Earth Systems is a foundation unit for further studies in Geology and Environmental Science, but more importantly, serves as a broad introduction to the very world we live on and to science in general. Such a background is highly desirable for any informed citizen for understanding complex issues around resources, climate, environment, and societal development.","title-full":"ERB101 Earth Systems","title-short":"Earth Systems","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=ERB101&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=ERB101","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=ERB101"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
