The unit covers various levels of modelling (micro and macro) techniques. The theory is supported by its real world practical modelling applications. It provides hand-ons use of state-of-the-art modelling tools through an authentic assessment. Modelling of transport networks is an inevitable part of the planning, design and operation of complex transport systems. For instance, strategic models are exploited for the planning of new transport infrastructure and traffic flow models are utilised for evaluating the efficiency and reliability of existing networks. A transport engineer should understand the suitability of various modelling and simulation techniques for particular tasks and assess their strength and weakness. The unit will acquaint students with essential transport strategic and operational modelling, and evaluation skills.","title-full":"EGB489 Advanced Transport Modelling","title-short":"Advanced Transport Modelling","url":{"current":"https://qutvirtual4.qut.edu.au/group/student/enrolment/units/unit?unitCode=EGB489&year=2022","prospective":"https://www.qut.edu.au/study/unit?unitCode=EGB489","timetable":"https://qutvirtual3.qut.edu.au/qvpublic/ttab_unit_search_p.process_teach_period_search?p_unit_cd=EGB489"},"year":2022,"years":[2022]}
