As part of my internships at Aurecon, Energy Queensland and PSC Energy, I have been able to visit two solar farms as well as several substations which has given me a much better understanding of how the electricity network operates and the challenges facing the industry as we move to a renewable future.'

Somayeh Hussaini studied a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) at QUT. Her honours project on temporal features in vision-based aircraft detection paved the path for her winning the prestigious John Kindler Memorial medal for most outstanding engineering graduate. Somayeh is now putting her knowledge into practice as a PhD researcher in the QUT Centre for Robotics.
