15th January 2015

QUT has made more than 11,000 QTAC offers to students for places across its three campuses in 2015, with double degrees proving to be a popular choice amongst school leavers.

QUT Registrar Ms Shard Lorenzo said more than 8,700 students received offers in the January QTAC round, released today and a further offer round will occur on February 5.

The Bachelor of Business at QUT was the most sought-after course with over 750 offers made so far to students who will begin their studies in semester one in February.

Ms Lorenzo said that demand for engineering and the health sciences, especially vision science and nursing was also very strong this year.

"At our Gardens Point campus, science, information technology, engineering and maths are proving very popular choices," Ms Lorenzo said.

"Creative industries is in high demand at the Kelvin Grove campus with 342 offers made in the January round.

"Fine arts and optometry are also performing strongly at that campus and at Caboolture, strong numbers in business, creative industries and nursing will see a vibrant campus community in 2015," Ms Lorenzo said.

Students may enrol immediately and Ms Lorenzo urged prospective students who have received an offer for a place at QUT in this round to accept their offer as soon as possible through QTAC.

"There are still opportunities to gain a place at QUT for semester one across all faculties and campuses. Anyone who is considering a new application or wishing to change preferences for semester one is encouraged to apply to QTAC for the February offer round as QUT is planning to make more offers across the majority of courses," she said.
