G20 Leaders Summit in Brisbane:
Information for students
Information for staff

The Gardens Point campus is located within the 'declared area' and will be closed (buildings locked) from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 November. There will be strictly no access into the Science and Engineering Centre during this time.

Anyone attending the campus during the Summit should carry identification which they must produce if questioned by a police officer. An additional 4,000 police officers are expected to be present in the city during the Summit.

QUT stakeholders should avoid planning events during, or around, the Summit weekend.

Staff with any concerns about working arrangements should discuss these with their supervisors or HR contact.

If any exams are disrupted by G20 activity, there may be a need to reschedule these for the week commencing 17 November; therefore staff will need to be available for marking.

Travel disruptions into Brisbane are expected during the Summit and potentially during the days before, so extra travel time should be allowed, even if on foot. Changes to public transport will be communicated byTranslink and changes to on-street parking arrangements, taxi ranks and bus stops should be expected in the week before the Summit.

Queensland Police also provide information on the event, including anticipated CBD travel impacts as does Brisbane Airport Corporation.
