LANGUAGE ASSISTANCE
English language support is tailored to individual students needs. Refer to your faculty or Academic Language and Learning Services site (http://www.student.qut.edu.au/international/language-and-learning-support).

TRAINING
The Research Students Centre provides you with a range of useful workshops and training events such as Stage 2 - The Literature Review (https://wiki.qut.edu.au/display/rst/Research+Students+Training+Resources)
• Liaison Librarians provide research skills training- (http://www.library.qut.edu.au/services/research/)

PERSONAL ISSUES
International Student Services (ISS) provides IHDR students with a range of support services including support with personal issues (http://www.student.qut.edu.au/international)
• Time Management- is covered in many of the Research Students Centre Training Workshops - refer to (https://wiki.qut.edu.au/display/rst/Research+Students+Training+Resources). Other resources include Counselling Services (http://www.counselling.qut.edu.au/offer/workshops.jsp) and the library's website (http://www.studywell.library.qut.edu.au/study_management.html)
• Managing stress- Counselling Services run many useful workshops (http://www.counselling.qut.edu.au/) including workshops on stress management
• Pastoral support- All faculties provide you with pastoral care. For more information please contact your Faculty Research Administration Officer.
• The Chaplaincy service provides spiritual advice and counselling (not limited to the Christian faith) (http://www.student.qut.edu.au/services-and-facilities/all-services/chaplaincy?ref=25792)

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL
Faculties and QUT Guild provide you with social activities. International Student Services (ISS) has an extensive program of social and cultural events: (http://www.student.qut.edu.au/international/)
• Integration of IHDR students with domestic HDR students- Orientation is an opportunity for all new HDR students to meet. The East West program is a good place to form friendships with domestic students and those from other cultures (http://www.student.qut.edu.au/studying/student-life/campus-life/east-west)

QUT provides you with high quality supervision because of our focus on our supervisory practices (e.g. supervisors' accreditation, workshops for quality supervision, etc). All this support is aimed at enabling you to have a high quality educational experience at QUT and complete your degree successfully and on time.

Please contact the Helpline or your faculty office if you experience any difficulties with your supervision and feel that you are not able to discuss these with your supervisors.
