Don't let sweet treats leave a sour taste this Easter: Waking to a chocolate egg or two on Easter Sunday is a pleasure most children look forward to, but parents are advised to be moderate and not shower kids with a mountain of chocolate they will be eating for weeks to come.

A king's bones under a carpark? Free public talk @ QUT: The Australian genetic statistician who helped prove British archaeology's most exciting find of modern times - that a twisted skeleton found under a Leicester council carpark was the remains of King Richard III - will give a free public talk at QUT tomorrow ... just three days before the king is buried again in a ceremonial reinterment set to capture the world's attention.

Rush to crush risks medicine effectiveness: People who take more than four doses of medicine a day appear more likely to crush tablets or open capsules potentially reducing their effectiveness, QUT research has found.

Business success sees students reach summit: Students from QUT Business School have won an esteemed international competition, beating some of the finest business schools in the world to secure the prestigious prize.

QUT creating the world's Airports of the Future: This airport is shaping the future of air travel yet it doesn't have a runway. QUT's campus-based Airport Innovation Research (AIR) Lab and People and Systems (PAS) Lab are where the world's future airports are being created.

New world-first road safety work zone crash barriers to save lives: New portable, composite, steel and plastic water filled road safety crash barriers developed by a QUT research team to withstand high speed impact will be manufactured by a Brisbane company and sold worldwide, reducing the severity of accidents and helping to maintain traffic flow.

QUT provides six Brisbane International Student Ambassadors: Six QUT students are among 26 new honorary international student ambassadors announced last week by Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk.

'Nudge' techniques improve compliance with liquidators: Business simulation experiments by QUT behavioural economists commissioned by ASIC indicate simple interventions could increase compliance by company directors whose companies are undergoing liquidation.

'Illusion of control' linked to higher risk taking: Investors prone to 'illusion of control' and 'overconfidence' bias are more likely to undertake potentially risky investments in complex hybrid securities, a QUT study has found.

- Dr Nick Suzor's expertise was sought for Radio Australia's story about copyright protection in the music industry.
- Professor Belinda Carpenter's research into police investigating deaths was covered by AAP, Mx and 4BC.
- Associate Professor Yvette Miller's research that found public hospital births create confident parents featured across the Fairfax network and Brisbane Times.
- Dr Anup Basu's research into investor bias and hybrid securities was covered by the Australian Financial Review, Smart Investor and Catallaxy Files.
- News that QUT would appoint an Australian-first Chair in Digital Economy was reported by IT Wire and ABC 612.
- Associate Professor Adrian Barnett and Professor Nick Graves' new video about the NHMRC process was highlighted in The Australian's High Wired.
- Dance Australia and ABC North Queensland reported on Professors Graham Kerr and Gene Moyle's study into the health benefits of ballet for people with Parkinson's disease.
- Dr Andrew Baker's antechinus discovery was The Guardian's January nature pin-up.
- Dr Tim Foresman talked to 612 ABC's Steve Austin about big data and the spatial revolution, while Spatial Source reported the US chief geographer speaking at Dr Foresman's PIVOTAL 2015 world Summit.
- Kelvin Grove campus coordinator Naomie Hewitt showed off the campus' carved native critters to 612 ABC.
- Australian Business republished Professor Axel Bruns' Conversation article about the February Australian Twitter News Index update.
- Dr Cassandra Cross' Conversation article about cybercrime was published by Australasian Science, Lifehacker and Business Spectator.
- The Conversation also ran a piece by Dr Gary Mortimer on the ugly food movement, which was republished by SBS Online and Science 2.0. He also talked to The Courier-Mail about consumers wanting fast fashion at lower prices, and to the Sydney Morning Herald about mobile barcode scanning apps.
- Dr Dipa Sarkar spoke to APN about youth unemployment in regional Queensland with stories in papers including the Gladstone Observer and Toowoomba Chronicle.
- Dr Kelly Richards spoke about the launch of the support program COSA to the ABC.
- The Gympie Times ran an extensive article on obesity and QUT's PEACH program.
- Queensland Country Life reported Dr Mark McGovern giving evidence at a public hearing in Canberra about a proposal to establish a bank for the rural sector.
- ARCAA's involvement in an international project testing the use of unmanned aircraft to detect pest and disease in crops was reported internationally, including AZoRobotics, and the Daily Journal.
