Ian Bernstein, Sphero co-founder and Chief Technology Officer will talk robotics with Dr Sue Keay at QUT.
Join Ian Bernstein and Dr Sue Keay, COO of the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision, as they discuss the evolution of Sphero, the application of Sphero SPRK Edition in the classroom, and the value of learning through play. This will be followed by a demonstration of Sphero technology by QUT Education and Science and Engineering Student Ambassadors.
Ian Bernstein has been hooked on robotics since the age of 12 and is now making a name for himself as a prominent figure in the world of connected play, robotics and coding. Through the Techstars program – a global network that enables entrepreneurs to bring new technologies to market – Ian teamed up with hacker and long-time friend Adam Wilson to co-found Sphero. Based in Boulder, Colorado, Sphero fuses robotic and digital technology into immersive experiences.
Sue Keay is the Chief Operating Officer of the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision (ACRV) and is responsible for the effective leadership, management and development of the ACRV's research, education and knowledge exchange programs. A university medallist and Jaeger scholar, Sue has more than 20 years experience in the research sector, managing and ensuring impact from multidisciplinary R&D programs and teams.
This event is supported by Rocket Comms, QUT Science and Engineering Faculty Widening Participation, Step Up, STEM for Schools Program, and the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision.
