Join us to explore a new Engaging Science Trail, where you can meander through bushland, learning about native flora and fauna, indigenous culture, active environmental research projects, university and national research infrastructure and the environment.
The trail is a joint initiative between Samford Ecological Research Facility (SERF) and Australia's national ecosystem observatory TERN, and will be officially launched by Queensland Chief Scientist, Professor Kerrie Wilson. It will be the first interactive education trail for research infrastructure in south-east Queensland.
The event will include the first public viewing of Digital SERF, an interactive educational and outreach product produced by QUT.
Other event experiences include presentations and demonstrations in the fields of carbon sequestration, educational outreach, environmental drone research, long-term environmental monitoring, conservation of threatened vertebrate species, and art-science collaborations.
