As National Science Week is celebrated around the country, the Faculty of Science is getting involved by offering a range of activities. We aim to increase the awareness of science and technology in everyday life. Help us to celebrate the stories of science.

Wednesday 17 August 6:00pm - 8:00pm | Careers with STEMFrom entering study to smashing it in the workforce and becoming leaders, our panel will inspire and ignite with their successful STEM stories. Thursday 18 August 4:00pm - 6:00pm | Teacher Professional Development: Approaches and strategies for bringing recent scientific discoveries into the classroom.Hear from Dr Michael Cowley, an expert in modern physics and astronomy here at QUT. Michael will outline simple physics demonstrations teachers can deliver to complement the learning objectivse and allow students to understand the content. National science week is Australia's annual celebration of science and technology. The event is held each year in August and is celebrated through a number events delivered by universities, schools, research institutions, library, museums and science centres. The week encourages interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematices and how it is relevant to everyday life.
QUT is committed to encouraging an interest in science among the public and encourage young people to become involved.
