Biography
As a business, charity and community leader Dr Peter researches, teaches, and publishes in 'values at work', human resilience, ethics, business strategy, pastoral care, leadership development and organisational culture. He is an ordained cleric, strategic consultant, values and mental health care and leadership researcher and company director. He is also an Army and Police chaplain and State Chaplain of Qld/NT for Mission Australia.Dr Peter offers strategic leadership, pastoral care, consults and advises in the areas of governance, pastoral care, leadership resilience, strategic planning, corporate ethics, international aid, HR, inter-faith, allied-health, education, trauma, conflict resolution and NGO development. 16 years ago after 25 years as a banker, people leader, senior investigating accountant, strategist and company director Peter was ordained. Aside from chaplaincy, corporate governance, strategic and board roles, mission development, pastoral care work and PTSD and trauma research are key foci, Peter also supports various veteran organisations.
He sits or has sat on or chaired various boards, management committees and government statutory authorities (in health, community care, education, finance and housing) and established and chaired a board audit Committee and sat on three other audit/finance committees. Dr Peter is the Board Chair of St John Ambulance Queensland, Honorary Chaplain Royal Australian Regiment Association and Chair of the Archdiocesan Deacons Association. He has been decorated by HM The Queen – Officer of the Venerable Order of St John (OStJ) and by the Governor General for services to business research and young person support (the Centenary Medal); emergency support leadership (National Emergency Medal); and he has received the Australian Defence Medal and a Knighthood of the Holy Sepulchre (KHS) from the Vatican.
