Mr Ali Pakdel

Biography
Ali is a PhD student at the School of Architecture and Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering, Queensland University of Technology (QUT).Before joining QUT, he completed his Bachelor's and master's in architectural engineering from Iran. In 2022 he won the prestigious Building 4.0 CRC fully funded PhD scholarship. Now, he is immersed in the dynamic academic community at QUT, pursuing his research interests on the intersection of buildings, technology, and the environment.
Being a research assistant at three funded research projects in his master's, he was lucky enough to work on pilot research projects with real-world problems, where he developed his research interest in sustainability, earthen architecture, passive solar buildings, and Building information modeling. Ali is committed to making a difference through his research and design, making the world a better place to live.
His diversified research interests include:
- Life cycle assessment (LCA) and Life cycle cost assessment (LCC);
- Building information modeling (BIM) and LCA/BIM integration;
- Embodied carbon emissions reduction;
- Industry 4.0 and integrating technology in architectural design;
- Learning systems and machine learning applications on architectural design;
- Building energy performance modeling (BEPM);
- Architectural design automation;
