For the 10th consecutive year, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has received an Employer of Choice for Women citation.
The announcement was made today (March 13) by the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA).
The citation is a prestigious acknowledgement by the EOWA of organisations that are recognising and advancing women in the workplace.
"QUT is one of a handful of universities to have consistently received this award over the past 10 years," Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Carol Dickenson said.
She said this annual award played an important role in raising awareness about gender issues in the higher education sector.
"It is heartening to receive this award once again, but we are conscious that there's still a long way to go," Professor Dickenson said.
"With our proportion of senior staff who are female approaching the 40 per cent target, QUT is keen to press on with development programs and other equal opportunity measures."
