Hand-spun and hand-woven, the making of khadi today provides livelihoods to people spread across rural India. In a world that is increasingly directing its attention to things sustainable and eco-friendly, and to India’s wealth of handmade textiles, khadi stands to play a significant role as a fashion fabric.

This exhibition is part of Confluence, the Festival of India in Australia. Spread across 12 weeks, the Festival brings together an array of the finest classical and contemporary offerings in performing and visual arts from India to multiple cities across Australia.
