Preventing arterial catheter-related harm in intensive care

Each year more than 200,000 patients (adults and children) are admitted to intensive care units (ICU) in Australia and New Zealand for treatment of serious and life-threatening injury or illness, or recovery from major surgery. The vast majority (~90%) of ICU patients will require an arterial catheter during their admission to optimise vital treatment and monitoring. Improving access to information and support for burn survivor communities

This PhD project will explore the information and support needs of people with lived experience of burn injuries, their families and communities. The project will focus on people with burn injuries once they leave hospital or when the majority of their burns have healed.
