Our research focus areas

Our research responds to the complex challenges facing society today through three interconnected domains: thriving communities, equitable futures and transformative technologies.

These domains are underpinned by five focus areas that reflect the faculty's commitment to creativity, education and social justice:

  • Empowering children and young people.
  • Fostering community resilience and wellbeing.
  • Designing for impact.
  • Shaping our understanding of media, technology and society.
  • Creating sustainable futures.

Together, these focus areas guide our interdisciplinary research efforts, enabling us to collaborate across disciplines and sectors to deliver real-world impact.
