About us

The School of Economics and Finance is home to a vibrant community of internationally recognised scholars whose expertise spans economics, finance and property economics. Our school's mission is to deliver research-based teaching that delivers real-world, current curricula to our students.

Our academics contribute to a dynamic research culture that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, networking and academic mentorship. Many of our staff lead and participate in prominent research centres across the university, strengthening QUT's broader research ecosystem.

Our research excellence is enhanced through our strong links with leading academic, government and public sector partners and includes strengths in:

  • econometrics (with applications both in economics and finance)
  • environmental economics
  • behavioural and experimental economics
  • corporate finance
  • asset pricing
  • property management and finance.

Why QUT

QUT Business School is Australia's first business school with triple international accreditation. Less than 1% of all business schools globally have achieved triple accreditation, and we’re proud to be part of this distinguished group.

Our accreditation status is recognised globally as an indicator of excellence. This allows us to provide exclusive access to a global network of top-ranking universities for exchange opportunities and international recognition of our credentials for alumni looking to advance their career overseas.
