Overview

The Local Positioning System is a major initiative to provide a global alternative to GPS, that works when and where GPS does not, and enables the tracking of robots, assets, and any thing of interest that moves.

Research activities

This a mid technology readiness level research project - which means that there is a relatively mature foundational technology, that is now getting to the exciting stage of field testing in various environments like campuses, libraries, hospitals, transport networks (roads, tunnels) and the possibility of further domains like construction, retail, trains and so on. You'll join an experienced team - your day to day leads for the project - and work on fielding and deploying the technology in the field.

Outcomes

Work on a flagship technology project, learn about what it takes to develop a mature and trusted technology.

Skills and experience

reliability and work ethic is critical, some experience with coding / basics of hardware / electronics, communication skills helpful too.
