A world-class university

We have the first business school in Australia to achieve all three leading international accreditation symbols of excellence:

  • AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business)
  • EQUIS (the accreditation body of the European Foundation for Management Development)
  • AMBA (The Association of MBAs).

QUT won more teaching awards than any other individual Australian university in the 2010 round of the prestigious Australian Awards for University Teaching.

We offer over 2,200 subjects across our 7 faculties.

We have an international outlook, with a student population of 40,000, including 6,800 international students from more than 100 countries.

Strength in research

QUT has a ranking of world standard or above in more than three quarters of its research, according to the Australian Government's Excellence in Research for Australia assessment framework (2010).

We combine new technology and cross-disciplinary research expertise to find solutions to issues affecting Australia and the global community.

Excellent campuses

Our Gardens Point campus is in Brisbane's central business district, situated right next to the beautiful city Botanic Gardens and the Brisbane River. The Goodwill Bridge links the Gardens Point campus with South Bank Parklands and Brisbane's cultural centre.

Our Kelvin Grove campus is just 2km from the city centre. Kelvin Grove urban village has shops, restaurants and bars, and the Roundhouse Theatre.

Our student community is busy all year round, with international students playing a major role in many festivals and events.

You can meet people from all over the world at regular student events, including:
