What you'll receive
Scholarships available include:
- scholarships valued at $7,500 paid over three years for an eligible bachelor degree in the Faculty of Science
- scholarships valued at $10,000 paid over four years for an eligible major in the Bachelor of Science Advanced (Honours).
Other benefits include automatic entry into QUT's College of Excellence.
Eligibility
You must:
- have completed Year 12 (or a gap year) in 2022
- be starting university for the first time in 2023
- identify as female
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent resident, or hold a permanent humanitarian visa
- have achieved a minimum ATAR of 90.0 or above (ATAR adjustment schemes are applicable in the assessment of these scholarships)
- have placed QUT as your first preference
- be applying to start one of:
How to apply
You do not need to complete a scholarship application for the Women in Science, Mathematics and IT scholarship. All eligible students who complete a QTAC application in line with QTAC key dates will be considered based on academic performance and gender.
What happens next?
There will be two rounds of offers. We'll make:
- first round offers in January 2023 to applicants who have put QUT as their first course preference
- second round offers after the acceptance cut-off date for round one.
A scholarship offer does not mean that you're automatically accepted into the course you've applied for. You still have to apply and be accepted through QTAC.
Conditions
You must:
- be enrolled full time in an eligible course for the duration of your studies
- achieve a minimum course grade point average (GPA) of 5 each semester.
You can't:
- defer your scholarship offer

About the scholarship
This scholarship aims to support high-achieving female students who are starting their first year of an undergraduate degree in science, mathematics or IT. The scholarship also aims to foster leadership and networking among emerging female technology leaders by encouraging scholarship recipients to contribute to and participate in activities with the Women in Science, Women in Maths, or Women in IT student clubs.
