What you'll receive
You'll receive a one-off payment of $500.00 per eligible child.
Eligibility
You must:
- be enrolled at QUT in Semester 2, 2026
- demonstrate that you have a child (or children) currently attending an early childhood education and care service in Australia (e.g., centre-based day care, family day care, outside school hours care, or in-home care) and provide at least one (1) evidentiary document that confirms your child’s (or children’s) enrolment and attendance.
You must also be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen
- a New Zealand citizen
- an Australian permanent resident
- a holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
- an international student.
How to apply
To be considered for a bursary, you must submit an application online before 11.59 PM, Friday 30 October 2026:
We will also ask whether you have received a scholarship or bursary through the QUT Equity Scholarships Scheme, a QUT Equity Emergency Bursary, a QUT Financial Assistance Bursary, a QUT Equity Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Bursary, and/or a QUT Equity WIL Relocation Bursary in 2025 to help demonstrate your financial need. Those identified as being in the highest level of financial need will be prioritised for a bursary.
What happens next?
If your application is successful, we will provide the bursary to you as a direct payment to your nominated bank account as soon as possible after your offer. It will be your responsibility to pay your early childhood education and care service provider with the help of the bursary we give you. QUT will not reimburse providers directly.

About the bursary
The QUT Child Care Bursary is designed to financially support students who are parents and guardians, specifically to help cover childcare expenses during assessments and examinations.
These bursaries are funded through Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF) and the QUT Learning Potential Fund, the largest perpetual endowment fund of its scale in Australia.
