Additional entry refers to courses that require you to complete an interview, audition, or portfolio in order to apply for the course.

The application process and dates for these courses may also differ, so make sure you read all the application information that is relevant for you.  In some cases you may have to apply to both QTAC and QUT for your course.

Up to $30,000 in scholarships

If you're an outstanding applicant for additional entry, you’ll automatically be considered for our scholarships that recognise excellence in creative pursuits.

You don’t need to apply for these scholarships - we'll assess your eligibility when you apply for your course.

Acting

During your audition, you’ll present two contrasting monologues of up to two and a half minutes. The pieces should show two different aspects of yourself. When preparing material for your audition, consider physical movement, emotion, what the character wants and the circumstances of the scene.

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting)

Dance

Your audition consists of classes in ballet barre, contemporary and jazz/hip hop. The selection panel considers your prior academic achievement and assesses your movement potential, physical suitability and alignment, musicality, artistry, creativity, and your confidence.

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance)

Dance performance

Your audition consists of classes in ballet barre (including pointe work) and contemporary. If you're successful in moving to a second round of auditions, you'll dance a solo performance of up to one minute in a genre of your choice. The selection panel is looking for passion and commitment to a professional career in dance.

Fashion

Your portfolio should include up to 20 pages of information and colour images that best demonstrate your current fashion achievements, working processes, commitment and potential. The selection panel is looking for evidence of your creativity and imagination, visual and professional communication, and fashion awareness.

Music

During your audition, you'll present two pieces with a total duration of up to 10 minutes. We recommend that at least one is your own song, improvisation or composition. The selection panel will ask you about your past experience, your ambitions, and how our course will help you to achieve your musical goals.

Visual arts

Your portfolio should include up to 10 digital images that best demonstrate your current art achievements, working processes, commitment and potential. Bring your portfolio to your interview. We'll ask you about the kinds of contemporary art and artists that interest you, and your knowledge of contemporary art practice.
