Overview

In this research project, you will develop a mathematical model, known as an agent-based model, to capture the development of a brain cancer in a patient. The model will then be matched to clinical samples from patients and used to make predictions around treatment efficacy.

Research activities

This project will be in collaboration with Professor Federico Frascoli at Swinburne University, and researchers at The University of Melbourne.

Outcomes

We expect to:

  • develop an agent-based model of brain cancer (glioblastoma) using PhysiCell
  • initialise our simulations using patient biopsies
  • compare the effectiveness of chemotherapy and immunotherapy for each patient using our mathematical model.

Skills and experience

You should have a good understanding of coding, ideally MATLAB and some C++ or python

Scholarships

You may be eligible to apply for a research scholarship.
